After four days traveling to different districts of Bangladesh you can’t help noticing the ingenuity of people in developing ways to move themselves, their products and their purchases. Everywhere you see all kinds of engines, vehicles and boats modified and adapted to serve the ever changing needs of the people of Bangladesh.

Ingenuity
.
Ingenuity,
your name is transport –
For every load there is a plan,
a welded beast, a richshaw van;
for every route a transfer man
a bullock cart or minivan.
For every freight or river load
a ship, a boat, a bamboo road.
For every load,
on any road –
the ingenuity of man.

.
What about woman and girls and boys?
Mankind – generically intended…
hmmmm
Yet Another great poem Rilla. You spotted the very special creativity in few words.
You are on constant move and on conitued development as a poet!
You inspire!
I love this one as it brings memories of our time in India. I wish to see some of that ingenuity in Zanzibar!
So true, Rilla, so true…
