Poems about Zimbabwe will for me always be more than poems about a place. Poems about Zimbabwe are poems about childhood, youth, family, belonging, conflict and life. This beautiful, mistreated and endlessly resilient country was my home from the age of 7 until my mid-thirties when I moved to East Africa. Along with Denmark, where I was born, and lived most of my very early years, Zimbabwe is part of who I am in a way that places that I have lived as an adult, never can be.
