Roads

This week’s poem inspired by the stunning contrasts between my new home town of Nyborg on Fyn in Denmark and my beloved Dhaka, which I left a few short weeks ago. Contrasts which make everything more vivid and notable.

Roads

From the corner of my eye

occasional cars through glass

on neat, sunlit street.

Remembering

wonder-filled frustration

in Dhaka’s mid-morning chaos.

  1. Rilla, catching with a few words what I also feel. I miss the calls for prayers from the minarets, I miss the hear and dust, I miss the walls in the park where you met people talking to each other, I miss all people surrounding me – all the time. I miss all open emotions people expressed, I miss the curiousity, I miss the pace. I miss the international life, I miss the loved daily life of diversity. And so much more. There is so much I like here in Stockholm and there are so many things I am confused about m, trying to understand. All best and much love. Ylva
